In light of this, Council has agreed that:
Pastor Claudia will be "ON DUTY" and available to the congregation on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as two Sundays a month. If you cannot reach her at the church office – 031 7053860, phone her on her cell phone – 072 5620058.
Pastor Claudia will be "OFF DUTY" (not available, except for emergencies) on Fridays, Saturdays, Mondays, and two Sundays a month. In case of a pastoral emergency, if you cannot reach her, Pastor Gilbert Filter or Pastor Georg Meyer will be able to help (see their numbers in the newsletter).
You may also phone our administrator Walter – 072 3566449, or our secretary Ingrid – 031 7051303 (h) for assistance.
| Week Day | Pastor Claudia on duty? | |
| Monday | NO | Not on duty |
| Tuesday | YES | On duty |
| Wednesday | YES | On duty |
| Thursday | YES | On duty |
| Friday | NO | Not on duty |
| Saturday | NO | Not on duty |
| Sunday | YES or NO -- Two Sundays a month | |
Kindly respect these times.
Please note that with Pastor Claudia working half-time; we as a congregation will have to cut back on certain ministries for a short period of time. Council has spent considerable time assessing each ministry; highlighting those that need on-going, full attention, and isolating those that, while important, can survive being shelved for four months! Thus, Pastor Claudia will focus on certain aspects of the congregation, while others ministries will be "put on ice" until the new full-time pastor arrives.
Remember – this is not forever – this is for a short transitional period of approximately 4 months (Jan to Aril 2008), and if we all support each other and each ministry during this time, God's work will continue and the congregation continue to serve it's community.
Pastor Claudia will also move out of the parsonage soon, and will therefore not be living on the premises. As soon as her baby is born, she will be on maternity leave (i.e., unavailable) for four months.
Our new full-time Pastor, Ron Küsel, will be starting as soon as possible, but most probably in April 2008. He will move into the parsonage with his family.
Yours sincerely,
NGLC Congregational Council
